isthecarclean.com ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how to reach us with questions.

1. What we collect

• VINs you submit. The 17-character vehicle identification number you enter, which we use to retrieve market data and generate your report.
• Payment information. Card details are collected and processed directly by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number — we retain only Stripe identifiers needed to reconcile your purchase.
• Report data. The compiled analysis for your VIN, stored against a random session identifier so you can revisit it.
• Basic technical data. Standard server logs (such as IP address and request metadata) used to operate and secure the service.

2. How we use it

We use the information above to generate your report, process your payment, prevent duplicate or fraudulent charges, operate the service, and respond to support requests. We do not sell your personal information.

3. Third parties

We rely on a small number of processors to deliver the service: Stripe for payments, MarketCheck for vehicle market data, and Anthropic for the automated analysis. Each receives only the data required to perform its function and is bound by its own terms and privacy commitments.

4. Data retention

Reports are stored for a limited period (currently up to 90 days) so you can return to them, after which they may be deleted. You can ask us to delete a report associated with your purchase at any time.

5. Security

All developer credentials and API keys are stored as server-side environment variables and are never exposed to your browser. Traffic is served over HTTPS.

6. Your choices

To request access to, correction of, or deletion of data associated with your purchase, email us at hello@isthecarclean.com and reference the email on your Stripe receipt.
